The three-way ZL Series feature a dual voice coil. This high-power handling dual voice-coil is the key to subwoofer like performance. Not to be confused with a bi-amped speaker where a low-frequency amplifier is playing the woofer and a high-pass amplifier is playing the midrange and the tweeter, the ZL DVC speakers are quite different. In the ZL series concept a full range amplifier, such as a OEM factory radio, powers the speaker like a normal three-way system.
